Ellen DeGeneres makes a shocking announcement: This is the last time you'll ever see me

Beyond perhaps Oprah Winfrey, nobody has made a bigger name for themselves on American television than Ellen DeGeneres.

However, the presenter and comedian has decided to put an end to her career in front of the cameras and, during a press conference, has announced that she is retiring after more than 40 years in the world of show business.

The information has arrived from Santa Clara, in the state of California. There, DeGeneres has been answering questions from journalists and fans, having to one of them an answer that few expected.

A follower questioned the presenter on if she was going to return once she finished her tour for her show 'Ellen's Last Stand...Up'.

Ellen DeGeneres, the fall of a star after many accusations

"No. This is the last time you'll see me. After my Netflix special, I don't want any more," was the blunt statement from DeGeneres, who offered no further details on the matter.

"I'm leaving, goodbye," DeGeneres has insisted to her fans, who have begun to ask her not to leave her post after so many successes and so many decades being one of the reference points of show business in the United States.

However, the truth is that her status had long been in question, especially after the emergence of a series of accusations of an alleged toxic work environment.

In fact, in 2020 a complaint was filed against her and that led to many others that claimed the presenter was a bully and generated fear among the workers of 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'.

After a period of continuous audience decline, the show ended up being canceled.
