All 6 participants are from different teams, beginning with Randy Arozarena from the Tampa Bay Rays, Luis Robert Jr. from the Chicago White Sox, Adley Rutschman representing the Baltimore Orioles, Pete Alonso from the New York Mets, Julio Rodriguez from the hosts of the show the Seattle Mariners, Mookie Betts from the Los AngelesDodgers and finally Vladimir Guerrero Jr. from the Toronto Blue Jays.
What are the rules of the MLB 2023 Home Run Derby?
The home run derby has a three-round competition with a bracket that follows single elimination rules with 3 rounds. Each contestant will have 3 minutes during the first two rounds with a 45-second time-out. The last round is 2 minutes with 45 seconds of time out. In the first round, Luis Robert Jr. of the Chicago White Sox will face Adley Rutschman of the Baltimore Orioles
The winner will face the winner of Adolis Garcia of the Texas Rangers against Randy Arozarena of the Tampa Bay Rays. In the other group, Pete Alonso of the New York Mets will face Julio Rodriguez of the Seattle Mariners. The winner will face the winner of the matchup between Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays.
