Even with the game in favor of the Baltimore Orioles, that di not prevented that all joy and happiness about the game was erased after fans witnessed one of the scariest moments of the season in Major League Baseball (MLB) when a fastball got away and hit a batter in the face.

Baltimore Orioles catcher James McCann was at the plate when Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Yariel Rodrguez delivered a 95 miles per hour fastball that should have been in the middle of the plate and ended up in the middle of McCann's face.

The 34-year-old catcher wanted to come through clutch after he was in the batter's box with the bases loaded. Blood was seen everywhere when he was waiting on two balls and two strikes count.

Medical attention was needed but he stayed in the game

James McCann immediately went to the grown as blood came out of his nose and mouth with visible pain and damage that would keep anyone from staying in the game and looking for more attention recuperate.

However, he bravely stayed in the game to run with some paper inside his nose to prevent more blood to come out and, against all predictions, he came back in the gam defensively as well.

The catcher maintained his position and only changed his jersey to stay in the game while receiving a standing ovation. This is the second time an Orioles player get hit in the head by a pitch, as rookie outfielder Heston Kjerstad was a victim of a fastball that left him in the inactive list.
