Baseball star Shohei Ohtani has revealed that he will have to sell his incredibly expensive Los Angeles mansion because of a serious invasion of privacy.
The Los Angeles Dodgers hitter is arguably the biggest name in Major League Baseball right now and that means that there is an immense amount of pressure on him to perform, both on and off the field.
He was involved in a major betting scandal thanks to a member of his team earlier in the year and now he has had a remarkable amount of detail revealed by the Japanese media about his house, to the extent that he no longer feels he can live there.
He purchased the 7.85m dollar mansion in Los Angeles to make himself more comfortable in the Californian city but his time there has come to an end.
Who reported on Ohtani's house?
It was actually the Los Angeles Times that first revealed details about the house Ohtani had bought, but the Japanese broadcast media began sharing more extreme details.
According to a baseball team source of Essentially Sports, Ohtani said: "I can't live there anymore."
It was Fujio TV and Nippon TV that began crossing the line when it came to Ohtani's house, as their coverage made it clear exactly where the house was located and placed the Ohtani family in real danger.
They even started interviewing people living in the houses surrounding Ohtani's, and many of them did not even know the basketball star had come into the area.
The fact that robberies are not uncommon in LA means Ohtani feels his privacy has been compromised.
