With over a month remaining in the regular season, the Oakland Athletics have officially been eliminated from the MLB playoff contention. Sporting a woeful 37-91, they currently hold the worst record in the league.

The Athletics find themselves trailing the Texas Rangers, who lead the American League West Division, by a substantial 35.5 games. They also lag behind the Houston Astros, the occupants of the final wild card position in the American League, by 34.5 games, with 34 still left to play.

This season has proven to be quite tricky for devoted Athletics fans. They have not only had to endure the management fielding a team that lacks competitiveness but are also grappling with the looming possibility of the team relocating to Las Vegas.

The owner of the Athletics, John Fisher, is grappling with shaping the narrative to align with his interests. He has recently spoken about the financial losses he expects to incur this season, a statement that has found limited credibility among many.

Fisher informed the media that the team submitted its application for relocation last Thursday. If granted approval, the Athletics will secure a new home base.

Despite this, supporters of the Athletics have been vociferously urging Fisher to sell the team. They contend that he is responsible for delivering a progressively subpar product, and this is speculated to be the reason behind his apparent disinterest in remaining in Oakland.
