The Toronto Blue Jays are realizing that their window of competitiveness is closing, and they must make strategic decisions including becoming sellers before the final trade deadline.

This would mean getting rid of some of their biggest stars such as Dominican Vladimir Guerrero Jr. who is one of the main interests of other teams and Toronto could be open to negotiating with the interested parties.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as part of a two-deal trade?

According to an executive who told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the Blue Jays appear to be open to parting with Vladdy Jr. if they decide to become sellers, plus they could include shortstop Bo Bichette in another possible trade.

Is Guerrero Jr. leaving along with Bichette?

The Blue Jays have reportedly already held talks with other teams about a potential trade, with their claims being 'very high' looking for a major rebuild by shedding two key players.

Both Guerrero Jr. and Bichette will become free agents at the end of the 2025 season, so the Jays will have to decide quickly whether to trade them or begin negotiating new contracts with both players, primarily Vladdy Jr. who is seen as the cornerstone of the franchise.

Vladdy Jr. has not been able to replicate the huge 2021 season he had, where he was 2nd in the American League MVP voting, with this year showing less power than in previous years, having the worst slugging of his career at the moment with .385, connecting only 11 extra-base hits on the season, 7 doubles and 4 home runs.
