In a heart-stopping moment during the race at Talladega on Saturday, Blaine Perkins' No. 02 car flipped six times after being hit by Dexter Stacey's car and going airborne upon contact with Jade Buford's car.

The car eventually rolled back onto the track. Despite the violent crash, Perkins miraculously walked away on his own.

The red flag was immediately raised, pausing the race as medical personnel attended to Perkins. He was later transported to a hospital for further evaluation, according to NASCAR. However, Perkins' ability to walk away from the accident was an encouraging sign.

Crashes cause double red flags at Talladega

The crash was just the first of two red flags during the race. In a separate incident, Daniel Hemric's car flipped onto its roof, causing another pause in the race. Hemric's car had to be flipped back onto its wheels before he could exit. He was treated by the infield crew and later released.

The terrifying wrecks occurred a day before the GEICO 500 at the Alabama track. Fans were relieved to hear that both Perkins and Hemric walked away from their accidents, despite the violent nature of the crashes.
