JD Motorsports found themselves at the center of a social media controversy during the NASCAR weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The stir was caused by a post that incorporated the viral "hawk tuah" meme, which originated from a street interview where a woman humorously described what drives men crazy, coining the phrase "hawk tuah."

The post featured a picture of the "hawk tuah" girl alongside an image depicting the damp conditions at the speedway. The caption highlighted that the practice and qualifying sessions had been rained out, and provided updates on the positions of JD Motorsports drivers Armani Williams and Garrett Smithley.

Although intended to be lighthearted, the use of the meme in this context quickly drew criticism and the post was promptly deleted from the @JDMotorsports01 account.

Manager faced the repercussions

Yet, the repercussions were significant, as the social media manager responsible, known by the handle @RDorman19 on X, announced his departure from the role.

JD Motorsports, which has been operating since 1983 under the leadership of Johnny Davis, made it clear that the post did not align with the company's values, leading to the swift action against their social media manager.

"Well boys, I went out on top," the manager noted.

"I've been removed from JD socials, didn't meet 'his beliefs'. Had to delete it."
