If we talk about NFL, some legendary names will come up, but when talking about true heroes, the first thing that comes to mind is the name Sean Taylor.

Unfortunately, Sean Taylor is no longer with us to see his full legacy and the appreciation that the people of Washington and Miami have for him. It was a premature death, since he was only 24 years old and died in his native Miami, Florida.

Probably even more unfortunate is the fact that he cant be able to see his daughter honor him. Freshman volleyball player, Jackie Taylor, will wear No. 21 as a Tar Heel, honoring her dad, at the University of North Carolina. She has been a standout athlete since a young age and looks to continue his father's legacy.

Everyone still mourns the death of Sean Taylor

In 2007, five men broke into Sean Taylor's house to rob him and were unaware that the NFL player was recovering from an injury with his family inside his home. The cornerman confronted the assailants and that's when they shot him.

Inside the house, in addition to Sean Taylor, was his fiance, Jackie Garca Haley, and their 18-month-old daughter. Fortunately, they were not injured because Taylor defended her family with his life. The cornerback was shot in the leg, he lost a lot of blood through a severed femoral artery, which would be the cause of his death.

Sean Taylor's sports career was one of the most notable, from his time as a college player with the Miami Hurricanes to his four seasons with Washington in the NFL. He was selected to the Pro Bowl twice and was named second team All Pro in 2007, that is, the second-best player at his position.
