The long wait for college football is almost over, with the season set to begin on Saturday, August 24th. It's been eight months since Michigan Wolverines dominated the Washington Huskies 31-13 in the last game played in January, but the excitement is building as teams prepare for a new season. One of the most talked-about teams this year is the Colorado Buffaloes, led by head coach Deion Sanders. With two players projected to be top 10 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, all eyes will be on Sanders' squad as they aim to make a deep playoff run.

Deion Sanders vs. CBS Sports

Deion Sanders is known for speaking his mind, whether he's addressing his grandson or the President. This no-holds-barred approach was on display during a press conference on August 9th, when Sanders had a pointed exchange with Eric Christensen, a local CBS Sports reporter. Sanders, as you can see in the video above, "politely" stated, "CBS, I'm not doing nothing with CBS," sparking controversy and speculation about his issues with the network.

Initially, many assumed Sanders was upset about being ranked near the bottom of the Big 12 standings, but the real reason was more complex. Phillip Dukes, who has a close relationship with Coach Prime, revealed on his "On3" YouTube channel that a previous project between CBS and Sanders had gone awry. According to Dukes,

There was a project between both CBS and Sanders, one person did their part and was vulnerable enough to say, 'Hey, you know what, I'm gonna share this with you.' The other faction, without notice or without saying anything, after all this time and effort was put into something, basically said, 'Nah, this ain't a good look for us right now.

So, it has nothing to do with being ranked so poorly, that seems obvious to me, having been a professional NFL player being bad-mouthed is nothing new to Sanders and he knows that words are empty depending on who they come from. Add to all this Sanders used to worked as a pre-game commentator for CBS' "The NFL Today" until 2004 when contract negotiations failed, so we can deduce that the beef between Sanders and CBS has been going on for at least 20 years and with the response he gave to the young reporter I doubt Sanders is going to change his relationship with the company.

New Season, Same Core

The Colorado Buffaloes enter the season with high hopes, anchored, as i told you above, by two standout players projected to go in the top 10 of the next NFL Draft. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, ranked alongside Georgia's Carson Beck as the best at his position in the new EA NCAA Football 25, and dual-threat star Travis Hunter are expected to lead the team to success. With the new playoff format expanding from four to 12 teams, there's an opportunity for less prominent schools to make a deeper run, and the Buffaloes are looking to capitalize on this chance. This season will be crucial not only for the team but also for the Sanders family as they navigate the future of their careers ahead.

As the season approaches, the spotlight will remain on Deion Sanders and his Colorado Buffaloes. Their performance will be closely watched, not just for their potential success on the field, but also for how Sanders continues to handle the media and his ongoing feud with CBS Sports.
