The Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins often feature in some of the most exciting matchups in the NFL. Aware of this, the league reserved one of the best spaces in its annual calendar for the AFC East's bitter rivals to write a new chapter in their shared history.

The Bills and Dolphins feud dates back to the days of the old American Football League. Buffalo was one of the first teams that Miami faced when it joined the AFL in 1966. Since then, they have played 121 games, with 62 wins for the Dolphins, 58 for the Bills, and one tie.

In 2024, the NFL scheduled the first of two meetings between these teams on its first Thursday Night Football (TNF). The game will be played on September 12 at 8:15 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Bills-Dolphins will also mark the beginning of the partnership between the NFL and Amazon Prime Video. The streaming giant will broadcast the match live through its platform.

The Bills have dominated in recent years

Although Miami has the all-time advantage in this series, Buffalo has won the last four games and 11 of the latest 12 the two teams have met. The Bills' winning streak includes a 34-31 victory in the Wild Card Round of the 2022-2023 season.

As if that were not enough, Buffalo snatched Miami's undefeated record last season by winning 48-20 in their Week 4 game. With all these defeats to avenge, playing in front of their home crowd and in prime time, fans can expect the Dolphins to bring out the best in their game to win.

Two revamped teams

Both teams will arrive with significant changes. The Bills revamped their roster from top to bottom, and while they lost receiversStefon Diggs and Gave Davis, they also received enough talent to give quarterback Josh Allen a competitive team.

For their part, the Dolphins kept the heart of their offense. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle returned this season, seeking their return to the playoffs after a humiliating loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the last wild-card round.

The Bills-Dolphins of the 2024 season have all the ingredients to be a great game. From the long-standing rivalry between both teams to prime time and the support of a streaming giant, everything should come together to give fans the show they deserve.
