Veteran Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Kleine Powell is going viral on social media as she prepares for the upcoming 2024 NFL season.
Klein Powell's journey into the Dallas Cowboys
Known for her vibrant presence and dedication to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC), Powell continues to shed light on what it means to be a DCC member.
Powell, a seasoned member of the iconic cheerleading squad, shared her excitement on social media, stating, "Practicing cameo poses before my shoot time Thank you @the_styling_stewardess @kaleigh_caver for making me feel so stunning today #HappyCameoDay #DCC #Dccheerleaders #AmericasSweethearts #Dallas."
Her journey into the world of DCC began at the University of Kentucky, where she cheered collegiately.
Powell's dream of becoming a Cowboys cheerleader started in childhood.
"I had wanted to try out for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) since I was a little girl," she recalled.
"I feel like every little girl wants to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. So, I said why not? Why not try out for the best and give it a shot and see how far I can go."
In 2021, Powell's perseverance paid off as she made it through the rigorous tryout process and joined the DCC.
She described the experience as surreal, saying, "I just kept making it through the (tryout) rounds. When I made it to training camp, I burst into tears because I realized that I could really (make the team)."
The journey was challenging, involving numerous routines and adapting to the DCC's unique style.
"The whole process is about trying to find your specific dance style while meshing with the veterans,"Powell explained recently to UKNow.
"They want to take every person's style and mesh it into a group. It's kind of like modeling while you're dancing, which I've never done."
Powell hopes to inspire others to follow their dream
Powell's dedication is evident in her game-day routine, which starts early and involves hours of practice, preparation, and performance.
Despite the demanding schedule, she cherishes the traditions and camaraderie within the team.
Despite her rising popularity, Powell remains humble about her status.
"I will never think of myself as a celebrity," she said.
"My mom said that and it was weird, coming from my mom."
Using her platform, Powell aims to spread positivity and inspire others.
"I want to spread positivity and joy with this new platform," she stated.
"I wouldn't want to be famous for any other reason than being a positive light or showing somebody kindness that they wouldn't be shown that day."
Reflecting on her journey, Powell is proud of her accomplishments and the impact she hopes to make.
"That is my favorite part. Being somebody that somebody else looks up to, that's what I've always dreamt of being," she said.
"That just makes you feel warm inside. And I know that my family is so proud of me. I can't believe that I get to live this life."
