We are just starting the NFL preseason and teams are already making upgrades on their teams. The Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings have made a very interesting trade after the team from the NFC East sent a player that was believed to be key to the North.
Cornerback Nahshon Wright, who only played in 22 games, will now play for the Minnesota Vikings, in exchange for another player from that position in Andrew Booth Jr., a former number 42 pick over all from 2022 who only participated in the 11% of the team's snaps.
Wright, a third-round selection in 2021 only started in three games and had one interception. He is the fourth veteran cornerback that Minnesota has picked up as they try to reinforce their secondary preparing themselves to face top players from the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.
The Cowboys have a plan
The Dallas Cowboys thought highly of Booth during the 2022 draft process, as they hoped a different scenery would be helpful to everyone involved in the planning of the schemes under new coordinator Mike Zimmer, which is the former Vikings head coach.
The history of injuries on both teams secondary was also motivation to make a move towards next season, even in the midst of a contract dispute with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and some doubt on Dak Prescott.
In the meantime, the team will look to have a top defensive to help the offense just in case they don't have the players that they want to really create danger in and NFC East that will be an uphill battle against the Philadelphia Eagles.
