Patrick Mahomes and his family have been enjoying a whirlwind summer in Europe, attending a number of concerts and sporting events together.
Whilst they have clearly been enjoying Patrick's time away from the NFL, there has been quite an announcement which will undoubtedly change their lives for the foreseeable future.
Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, released an official announcement that they are indeed expecting their third child together.
The Kansas City Chiefs star shared the joyous news on Friday morning, revealing Brittany's pregnancy in a rather endearing manner.
Post came out in Instagram
The couple posted a video on Instagram showing them holding a sonogram, while their two children played nearby.
The video, set to Bruno Mars' "Count on Me," featured a caption written by Brittany herself, which many mothers will be able to resonate with.
"Round three, here we come," she posted.
Mahomes family had recently been asked about the possibility of a third child
Patrick and Brittany's first child, Sterling, was born in February 2021. In November 2022, they welcomed their second child, Bronze. The family has remained close, often taking vacations together when Patrick is not on the field.
While the exact due date for their third child is unknown, Brittany's current baby bump suggests the new addition might arrive sometime in 2025.
Prior to Friday's announcement, there had been speculation that the family might welcome a third child, although neither parent was especially committal when asked the question.
Patrick appeared to be more enthusiastic than Brittany, who made clear her reservations about adding a third child into the mix, especially with the previous two still so young.
In August 2023, Brittany Mahomes addressed fan questions on Instagram about expanding their family.
"There are a lot of these...lol. We aren't sure honestly! Part of me says yes, part of me says ehhhh maybe not," Brittany admitted.
However, with the news now official the couple will have to put any doubts for one side at this juncture and prepare to welcome a third child into the world.
