Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford married his college sweetheart Kelly Stafford and they have been in happily in love ever since they met. They have been together through thick and thin, even when she had delicate health issues, and he thought his career was maybe doomed to failure before arriving in Los Angeles.
People might say this is a relationship made in heaven for what they have accomplished together and the way they live and go about each other. However, there is always drama between two people, especially when they have been together for so many years and through everything.
Back when they were in college, some extra spice was added by her in what it turned out to be a very interesting turn of events and a situation that nobody saw coming, creating a tense atmosphere that ultimately fueled a fire what was worth every single moment of it.
The drama that spiced things up
Kelly Stafford made an appearance on the "Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe" podcast on Tuesday, where she revealed how she had a backup boyfriend that she dated just to piss Matthew off and make im more affectionate towards her.
"At first, I hated him. I loved him. I dated the backup to piss him off, which worked. He was the bad boy too like Matthew's so sweet and Southern gentleman and all that stuff and the backup was the complete opposite. It upset him which it worked thankfully," Kelly Stafford said.
She explained how the Super Bowl winning quarterback wanted to casual date her at first and this helped her and the relationship. Something that changed as well was her self-confidence after giving birth to her kids, as she did not want to have intimacy with him.
"I was in a terrible place, and not only did I not have energy for Matthew, but I was so insecure about my body that I would not be naked near him ... I could not do it. It was really hard on our marriage because of my feelings toward my own body," Kelly Stafford had said in "The Morning after with Kelly Stafford & Hank" podcast, as proof of her not being shy about anything she can say on a microphone.
She also noted how she didn't enjoy her first three pregnancies, as she was just trying to get back into shape after it. However, her mentality changed after the fourth kid and she has been happy with herself ever since.
