In 2023, Tyreek Hill was the best receiver in the NFL. However, the player will enter the 2024 season as only the eighth highest-paid non-quarterback in the league. Despite this, the Miami Dolphins star demonstrated his good character by congratulating the new highest-paid player in the NFL, Justin Jefferson.

The Minnesota Vikings and Jefferson himself confirmed the contract extension without revealing the financial terms of the agreement. However, international media assured that Jefferson would pocket $140 million in four years, an average annual salary of $35 million.

This sum puts Jefferson ahead of San Francisco 49ers linebacker Nick Bosa, who will earn $34 million annually for the next five years and was the highest-paid non-QB in the league. In turn, Hill moved down a notch with a deal for "only" $30 million annually that he signed in 2022.

Despite his 1,799 yards in 119 catches in 2023, Hill is also below A.J. Brown, Chris Jones, Aaron Donald, and Amon-Ra St. Brown, all with salaries over $30 million. Even so, the Dolphins receiver took time to congratulate his colleague.

Hill's congratulations

In a very brief message on X, formerly Twitter, the "Cheetah" Hill simply said, "JJettas that's well deserved." JJettas is Jefferson's Instagram handle.

Tyreek's message generated a large number of responses, some of them joining in congratulating the Miami receiver. "Yup. Best WR in the NFL by far," said one user. "Definitely," agreed one second, and "Most def(initely)," approved one more.

However, many others felt that Hill should have a better contract. "You deserve more money!" claimed one of his followers. "Your turn!" "You Next... Cheetah," and "Don't worry baby boy, yours is coming soon!!! Tell that boy Tua the same thing," were some comments supporting the wide receiver.

Some reproached him for leaving the Kansas City Chiefs two years ago. One user claimed, "Should've stayed with the Chiefs," while one more told him, "You should've taken that three-year deal with the Chiefs would have a couple more rings and would have already got another extension."

Hill is entering the second year of the four-year, $120 million contract extension he signed with the Dolphins in 2022. The deal includes a $30 million signing bonus and $72.2 million guaranteed.
