An ex-college football punter is camping at the Miami Dolphins' training facility in a unique bid to secure a contract with the Floridian team to join the NFL as he craves his one shot with the squad.

The effort included a four-hour drive to reach the camp, where Kyle Ulbrich is displaying signs made by his fiancee displaying his stats and other marketing strategies such as jokes like, "Sanders I can hold your balls better," along with a QR code to scan.

Ulbrich, who played for Middle Tennessee State where he recorded an average of 47 yards per punt in his senior year, has adopted the method to prove his commitment to the team as he awaits confirmation or denial.

"I've played at Hard Rock [Stadium] before," Ulbrich said to TMZ Sports. "I've played in big atmospheres before, and the boys were like, 'If you're about it, you might as well. You have nothing left to lose.'"

As it turns out, he's already been noticed by personnel at the Miami Hard Rock stadium, which also hosts Formula 1 races, although it wasn't one of his desired personalities as he found himself flirting with trespassing laws.

"I didn't get the name of the guy who told me to move," Ulbrich added. "He took a picture and told me he would get security if I was at that point again.

"I get that, I was close, that was my bad. I didn't know where I could and couldn't be."

Ulbrich's plea to the Dolphins

Through his career, Ulbrich punted 224 times with some impressive numbers too as he cleared 50 yards on 67 occasions whilst going inside the 20-yard line on another 73.

And although he's unproven at NFL level, he insists that there would be no damage done to the Dolphins if he doesn't manage to step up to their standard so why not take the gamble?

"If you guys just give me an opportunity," Ulbrich added. "Worst thing that happens is I don't perform the way I think I can perform.

"I'm already here, I'm already outside your gates. I would be very appreciative and grateful for an opportunity."
