In 2021, Russell Wilson experienced the profound sorrow of losing a dear friend to cancer.

A week after his friend's passing, Wilson delivered an 8-minute speech, cherishing and reminiscing their moments together.

Three years later, the Steelers QB emphasizes the importance of seeking happiness during challenging times.

On July 14th, Wilson tweeted a clip of a father-son duo dancing, with the pair celebrating their victory against cancer.

"This is what life is all about! Joy in the midst of the trials," Wilson wrote.

This heartfelt post likely made Wilson reflect on his friend's passing. The text over the video read, "When your son is now 5 years cancer free!" and the song playing was "Keys Diary" by DJ NoSo.

Remembering Trevor Moawad

On September 15, 2021, Trevor Moawad, Wilson's longtime mental-conditioning coach and business partner, lost his battle with cancer.

Three days later, Wilson, then the Seattle Seahawks QB, spoke about his friend in a press conference. Despite the difficulty, Wilson smiled, recalling the best moments with Trevor. He highlighted Moawad's humility, dedication, and impact on others, sharing details of their first conversation and crediting Trevor for helping him move past the Super Bowl XLIX loss.

Moawad's work extended beyond his relationship with Wilson. He was known for his contributions to the Jacksonville Jaguars and several college programs, including Alabama, Georgia, and Florida State.

Together, he and Wilson co-founded Limitless Minds, bringing their teachings to the corporate world.

Wilson concluded his tribute with gratitude.

"Trev, I thank you. I wish I could talk to you again. But, I'll see you again. The best is ahead. Go hawks."
