The feud between Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya shows no signs of cooling down. The former boxer and current promoter recently brought up a controversial incident involving the UFC president.

De La Hoya referenced an altercation where White was seen slapping his wife during a dispute at a Cabo San Lucas nightclub.

This event, which took place a few years ago, involved White and his wife, who have been married for over a decade.

According to reports, the couple was intoxicated, and the argument escalated when White whispered something to his wife, leading to a physical confrontation.

While recalling the incident, De La Hoya took a shot at White during an interview.

"When a guy slaps his wife in public, you know when his mom writes a book about him saying that he is a douche, his own mom? That's all I have to say," De La Hoya detailed.

"I don't have to say anything more."

In response, Shannon Sharpe, the interviewer, asked the former boxer to elaborate on his comments.

"What's going on with you and Dana? You guys were cool," Sharpe asked.

What started the rivalry?

De La Hoya explained that the relationship between him and White soured when he expressed interest in entering the MMA world. He felt that White perceived him as a threat and tried to undermine him.

"Yeah, we were cool. When I first thought about getting into MMA, I strongly felt that he just wanted to bury me, not have competition," he continued.

"He started talking sh** about me. We're in different sports; he does his thing, I do mine. Just because I wanted to start a little competition, he gets all 'let me scream louder,' you know?"

The feud continued earlier this year when De La Hoya took another shot at White, following the announcement of a fight between Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou, a crossover between boxing and MMA.

De La Hoya criticized White's stance on MMA fighters transitioning to boxing. He mentioned how White had claimed that there was no money or prosperity in boxing for MMA athletes.

"I heard Dana White say something about, 'Well, these MMA fighters are not making more money in boxing.' All I could do was laugh," he added.

De La Hoya went on to highlight how several fighters under White's promotion moved to boxing, where they earned significantly higher paychecks than they did in MMA.

He praised these fighters for making the switch and encouraged others to consider boxing for better financial opportunities.

"I'm happy for them. Hey, make all the money. Come to our side of the street and make the real money," De La Hoya concluded.
