Well made good quality shoes with a nice sturdy look .take a little breaking in . Walk around the house for a few hours for a few days and they should be ok I'm a 9 standard and they are a nice neat fit .if you are a slightly big 9 try a 9.5 in store first just to be sure thats what i do.

After 1 month the sole has come apart on one shoe. I have bought these before for my son and they have lasted for years.

They seem pretty robust. The shoes they replaced didn't withstand much wear and tear but these feel like they will last. A little uncomfortable at the heel. Perhaps they'll be more comfortable when broken in.

I went with the brown and is very nice, Great looking shoe, great grip, ride height gives you a little lift, Smart in an office or with Jeans. 1 days wear and you will be wearing a plaster on one of your heels. 3 days wear and you will be loathed to walk any distance or sporting a limp in an effort to stop more skin being removed. 4+ days if you stick at it you will start to appreciate the shoe as leather starts to give a little. 10 days wear and one of my shoes has decided to un/de-glue the shoe heel from the sole! On the plus side they will have to go back and M&S customer service is usually very good, providing they are in the returns window otherwise you might have to visit a non food hall store to get them back. Unsure if I would purchase these again due to fault which is a pity as they are almost a DM.

They seem like solid, sturdy shoes for my teenager's school use. Only drawback is they're the kind that rubs the back of your ankles raw until they soften up.

Need breaking In

Had my eye on these early on. Ordered two pairs, one black, one brown size 8. I wear orthotics so couldn't put them on, ordered 9s. Ok but there is some very tough stitching on the inner heel/Achilles. Been wearing blister plasters for 3 days. May go back and "break them in" but probably won't . On balance, a waste of £120
