The Petersburg Vikings basketball team scored 42 points and held the host Pocahontas County Warriors to 40 in the Vikings non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Vikings now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Frankfort for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5.

The Warriors (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Tygarts Valley (Mill Creek, WV). The Bulldogs enter the Potomac Valley contest with a 2-4 record. In their last contest, Tygarts Valley was nudged by Braxton County (Sutton, WV), 54-36, in a non-league contest.
