Simon Kenton Pioneers (Independence, KY) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bishop Brossart Mustangs (Alexandria, KY), 56-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Simon Kenton upgrades its record to 14-5 on the season. The Pioneers host Williamstown (Williamstown, KY) to play the Demons in a District 32 bout on Thursday, January 18. The Demons go into the bout with a record of 4-10.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Conner Cougars (Hebron, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Bishop Brossart will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record.
