Softball Preview: Marshall County Marshals vs. Carlisle County Comets

Marshall County has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Carlisle County Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Marshall County is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Tuesday, just like they did against Paducah Tilghman (and have done all season long). Marshall County never let Paducah Tilghman onto the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Monday.

Lilly Hayden tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Marshall County got a massive performance out of Allicen Harris, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with a home run and four RBI. Madyson Morton was another key contributor, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and a triple.

Meanwhile, Carlisle County can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against Murray as Carlisle County made off with an 11-0 win.

Olivia Webb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit over five innings pitched. Webb has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Webb was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Carlisle County let Anna Russelburg and Reese Eddleman loose on the outfield. Russelburg went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and a triple, while Eddleman got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run, three runs, and two RBI.
