Preview: Bella Vista Broncos vs. Roseville Tigers
Bella Vista is 1-9 against Roseville since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bella Vista Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Roseville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Bella Vista and eight for Roseville.
Bella Vista suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Yuba City by a score of 39-37. Bella Vista has struggled against Yuba City recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Ellie Thome put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 19 points along with nine steals. That was a full 51.4% of Bella Vista's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Eva Jensen, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Bella Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yuba City only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Roseville suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Woodcreek on the road and fell 59-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Roseville has scored all season.
Bella Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Roseville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.
Bella Vista came out on top in a nail-biter against Roseville in their previous matchup on January 3rd, sneaking past 33-31. Will Bella Vista repeat their success, or does Roseville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
