Softball Recap: Capital Christian Cougars vs. Willow Glen Rams

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Capital Christian had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They never let the Willow Glen Rams onto the board and left with a 6-0 win. Capital Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

Ayla Tuua made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Tuua has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than seven innings in five consecutive pitching appearances. Tuua was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bree Johnson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Capital Christian pushed their record up to 26-3-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Willow Glen, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-8.

As of now, neither Capital Christian nor Willow Glen have any future games scheduled.
