Adele has addressed her multiple cancelled shows in Las Vegas - admitting it was a "s**t show".

The singer decided to open up on the string on cancellations while performing on the first night of her Munich residency. She will be taking to the stage at her 75,000 capacity purpose-built stadium in the German city for ten nights across August. It marks Adele's European comeback following her stint in Sin City.

Adele moved to the United States and performed to a 4,100 crowd as part of her Weekends With shows at Caesars Palace Colosseum arena in Las Vegas. Her residency was due to begin on 21 January 2022, however she cancelled it with one days notice due to production delays and her team contracting Covid.

It didn't go down well with fans at all, as many spent thousands to secure tickets, flights and accommodation to watch the star perform. Adele has addressed the cancelled shows while speaking to the crowd in Munich on Friday night. The Mirror heard how the singer said: "Ive been calm all week to the point my friends were worried something was wrong.

"There was that s**t show of me cancelling Vegas. I wouldn't be here if that didn't happen I couldn't carry on if I'd done a show I didn't believe in." Her last world tour ended early at Wembley in 2017 due to illness and she was also forced to postpone 10 Las Vegas shows because of vocal issues.

Apologising for the ‘inconvenience’ in a statement on Instagram, she wrote: “Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of last leg and all through the break. I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again and unfortunately it’s taken a toll on my voice. And so on doctor’s orders I’ve had to rest thoroughly. The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap.”

The residency officially stated on 18 November 2022 and is set to finish on November 23 this year. Adele has previously said cancelling the start date of the residency was the “worst moment in my career”. “There was just no soul in it,” she said as she explained her decision in an interview with Elle magazine.

“The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment. It was the worst moment in my career by far. I was so excited about those shows. It was devastating.”

While admitting she was embarrassed about the cancellation, Adele insisted she was also proud to have stood by her artistic needs. “The first couple of months were really, really hard," she admitted. "But it actually made my self-confidence grow, because it was a very brave thing to do. And I don’t think many people would have done what I did.”
