On a self-described ‘summer break’ from Weekends with Adele at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace, Adele has crossed the pond to perform on a European stage for the first time since 2016 with a ten night residency in Munich across August.

“It’s random but fabulous!” declared the singer as she announced her European comeback in January.

The latest record-breaking stretch of dates will see Adele perform in a 75,000 capacity ‘pop up arena’ at Messe München in Munich. The dazzlingly modern stadium has been custom-built for the pop star to allow her to get as close as possible to fans.

Lucky ticket holders will also delve into the delights of ‘Adele World’ before the concert, a surrounding festival site that boasts a Bavarian beer garden and a classic English pub modelled on the Good Ship in Kilburn, north-west London, where she performed her early gigs. Other nods to Adele’s legacy include the ‘I Drink Wine’ bar in a nod to a track from her most recent album 30.

The ten-date spectacular could be the last time fans get to see Adele for a while after the pop diva has already hinted she’s ready to take her leave from music to pursue other projects. “I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while,” she revealed, admitting her tank was ‘quite empty.’

Final song

Adele rounded off her first night in Munich with Rolling in the Deep.

She ended her performance with fireworks and was bid farewell by the crowd with a huge applause. After leaving the stage, The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony played as the crowd left the stadium.

Security helping fans

Security had to step in to help fans as Adele fired merchandise into the crowd.

The T-shirt gun used by the singer didn't reach the tiered stands in Munich, meaning everyone left their seats to stand in the aisle. However, fans were told it was a security issued and they needed to move back.

Adele in tears

The singer welled up as she introduced her hit Someone Like You.

With tears in her eyes, she told the crowd: "This song changed my life. For some reason I'm feeling so moved my this song tonight. More than usual. Thank you." Adele then told her fans that she "might cry" during the song and asked them to help her.

However, during the performance she stopped the show. She asked to do the intro again as she "wants to hear everyone singing first". Adele removed her earplug and said: "Let me hear you and I'll start." She was greeted with a mass singalong from her fans.

During her performance of When We Were Young, her big screen on the stage was filled with polaroid photos of Adele as a child.

'Adele World'

The Mirror has taken a look inside the venue Adele has created for her fans.

Before the concert, fans can explore 'Adele World' which sees a surrounding festival site boasting a Bavarian beer garden and a classic English pub. It has been modelled on the Good Ship in Kilburn, north-west London, where she performed her early gigs. Other nods to Adele’s legacy include the ‘I Drink Wine’ bar in reference to a track from her most recent album 30.

Speaking to the Mirror, one German fan admitted it felt like she "was in London" thanks to all the impressive touches. Fairground rides are on offer as well as an Aperol Spritz bar that has been dedicated to the singer with a rebrand of 'Adele Spritz'. Entertainers performed on stilts and mock-up tabloid newspapers have been dished out. She named her paper 'The Saturn Times' in reference to a tattoo of the planet on her arm. Take a look here.

Addressing Las Vegas cancellations

Adele took time out of her performance in Munich to discuss the "s**t show" of her cancelling some Las Vegas performances.

The singer gained something of a reputation for cancelling tours. Her last world tour ended early at Wembley in 2017 due to illness and problems persisted at her Las Vegas residency. First, the show was cancelled at a day's notice, in a furore blamed on her not being happy with the production and complications of Covid. Then she was forced to postpone 10 shows because of vocal issues.

Speaking in Munich, Adele said: "I've been calm all week to the point my friends were worried something was wrong. There was that s**t show of me cancelling Vegas. I wouldnt be here if that didn't happen. I couldn't carry on if I'd done a show I didn't believe in."

Wedding bells

Between songs, Adele decided to open up on her personal life.

Last month, it was reported she was finally engaged to Rich Paul after months of speculation. The duo's potential wedding has long been the talk of the town - and it now appears the day is edging closer. The American sports agent, 42, is said to have popped the question to the Hello singer, 36, in her hometown, with the musician believed to have given a prompt "yes" response.

Adele appeared to make reference to her wedding plans while on stage as she aloofly said: "What's going on in my personal life? Nothing because I've been getting ready for this."

Adele's joined on stage

Adele asked a young boy to join her on stage for a photo.

The singer persuaded him to bring along his sister as he appeared too shy to step on stage alone. She asked how old he was, to which he replied: "Good." His sister admitted she was "very drunk", as Adele quipped: "Good, the drunker you are the better I sound."

She then shared her relief as picking two locals to join her on stage for night one. The sister then asked Adele to give a shout out to two girls they had met from Liverpool, who were "amazing". Adele joked: "How can you understand what they are saying!"The Hello hitmaker then gave the brother and sister merchandise and a signed poster before they headed off stage.

Getting into the German spirit

Throughout her performance, Adele has been sipping out of an Oktoberfest mug.

She has got into the German spirit and pointed out her choice of glassware to her fans. Adele asked: "How are you out there are you ok? Do you like my Oktoberfest mug?" The singer then admitted: "I'd get messy if I went! I used to love beer and I'd drink it all the time."

'Just a random girl from London'

Adele stayed humble as she performed in front of the sold-out 75,000 strong crowd.

She asked her fans: "Did you enjoy Adele World?" The singer explained: "I've been going round it all week nitpicking. Did anyone watch the Spice Girls? The Spice Girls Experience were my opener and they performed twice today, they have more stamina than me."

Adele added: "I'm just a random girl from London so this opportunity to play so many shows... I'm blown away."

A proposal!

During Adele's performance, one man was able to catch her attention and ask if she could help him propose.

Adele told him: "Oh I would love to help you do that. Please put the camera on these two on the front please put them on the screen." She then quipped: "Oh he said yes!" The singer then asked how long the couple had been together as they told her 17 years.

In pure Adele form, she joked: "17 years f**k me. It took you that long." After the sweet moment, she told the engaged couple: "I'd come down but I can't get down there. I would sing Make You Feel My Love but I'm singing that later. Its too early."

Adele halts show

Just as she went into her second song - Rumour Has It - Adele was forced to stop the show.

She went into the wrong intro and told the crowd: "I came in too early!" Her band started up again, yet Adele decided to halt the performance. The singer admitted: "Before we go into the next one, and we are supposed to go into the next one. But I underestimated how f***ing scared I am."

Adele added: "But I've got to take this Dior train off [her dress attachment] because it's wet and heavy. I checked the weather and they said no rain at the start of the show so I put on this dress. Now I look like a right f***y."

Adele takes to the stage after long wait

After a delay of 45 minutes, Adele has finally taken to the stage with her hit single 'Hello'. She walked on with thunderstorms overhead, as rain soaked the crowd.

Help on hand

If any fans feel unsafe or unwell during their time at Adele in Munich, her team have put in place a safe word.

They have shared: "If you feel unwell, threatended or overwhelmed, please approach the info team or security using the code word 'PANAMA'. Help will be provided discreetly. A safe space is set up at the western info point, providing a place of clam."

Reminder to fans

Those attending Adele's show in Munich have been reminded the event is outdoors.

It comes after the pop star's final dress rehearsal was cancelled yesterday due to severe weather in the area. Adele's team have warned fans to "dress for the weather". They reminded fans: "This is an outdoor event. Don't forget to dress for the weather! Friday's forecast is cloudy with a chance of rain and highs of 23C. Make sure to wear suitable clothing and footwear so you can enjoy the show comfortably."

Plenty of music

Adele fans are treated to not one, but two stages of live music.

Music lovers can catch a wide range of acts including a tribute to the Spice Girls as well as karaoke. For Friday night's show, the second stage opens at 3:30pm with DJ Mad, followed by The Spice Girls Experience at 4pm.

They return for another performance on the stage just an hour later as Florian Zimmer keeps fans entertained inbetween. Just before Adele takes to the stage, fans can warm up their voices with karaoke and can even stay and party for Late Night Karaoke from 10:30pm till midnight.

Queue

There’s still a bit of time to go until Adele takes to the stage but huge queues have already begun to form.

Fans are lining up to ensure they don’t miss a second once Adele belts out her first song in around an hour’s time.

I Drink Wine

The German beer garden section is also packed with tasty drink offers and snacks on sale for peckish fans.

Free beer - or bier - is on draft for those who fancy a pint or stein, with a special wine bar called I Drink Wine (of course) popped up for those who prefer a glass of vino instead.

The prices for wine are quite reasonable for a major music event. A glass of champagne will set fans back just under 15 Euros, the cheapest glass of white wine available is 8.50.

Adele's very British world

Adele may live in America these days but the iconic singer hasn’t forgotten her London roots. The mum-of-one clear had a theme in mind when i came to planning how Adeleworld would look - British!

There’s a traditional English pub for punters to nip for a quick pint before the Hello songstress takes to the stage, with the back of the boozer adorned with apple trees and giving very English energy.

Speaking to the Mirror inside Adele world, one German fan said she felt like she was “in London” thanks to Tottenham-born Adele’s special touches.

If that wasn’t enough, Adele has wheeled out a tribute act to perhaps the most iconic British band of all time - the Spice Girls! Adele has made no secret of her love for Posh, Sporty, Ginger, Scary and Baby and made sure a tribute to the iconic five-piece belts out some on the anthems on the covers stage

Inside the VIP experience

It’s a blessing just to see Adele perform live but some lucky fans in Munich will be watching their idol in VIP style this evening.

The Mirror is backstage at the lavish VIP area in Germany and all the stops have been pulled off. VIP guests are offered a glass of champagne or aperol spritz upon arrival and the food menu boasts items like Angus beef fillets, Atlantic lobster and creamy potato mousseline.

A big central bar inside - with Adele’s name plastered across it no less - offers VIP fans a wide range of drinks and fancy cocktails, including a signature tipple dubbed ‘Baglietti Organic Prosecco Black & Gold’

Adele suffers major setback following security breach

Adele's long-awaited first show of her ten-day Munich residency has already been dealt a massive blow after a fan breached security and gained access inside the venue in Germany.

The award-winning singer, 36, is set to wow the 80,000 strong crowd in just a few hours but it's emerged that an avid fan gained access to the stadium earlier this week - going on to share the video on social media.

The pop-up stadium, which has been named after the singer, has been reportedly kept under wraps but earlier this week, a man managed to evade security and shared videos on his Instagram.

Fans arrive in Munich to collect Lucky Dip tickets

Excited fans have arrived at Munich's huge open air arena to collect their tickets this afternoon.

The lucky ticket holders were able to nab them for just €35 per ticket (less than £30) - a bargain price compared to some which have skyrocketed over the last six months for up to £1,000. The Lucky Dip tickets were given at random. They go on sale every Monday.

Weather chaos

Just before her first show kicks off on Friday 2 August, Adele suffered a blow as her final dress rehearsal was cancelled. The Hello hitmaker and her management made the tough decision to call off the performance amid fears of fierce thunderstorms and heavy rain.

Concert organisers issued a statement where they said the run-through was cancelled "due to safety measures".

Forecasts for the German city predict "moderate, gusty winds from the west to northwest in some areas" and warns of "scattered showers or thunderstorms overnight into Saturday, more frequent near the Alps"

Seating plan

Adele’s new custom-built Munich arena boasts the largest concert screen ever created. The record-breaking state of the art LED screen will allow fans to see their favourite up close from wherever they are sitting. However, Adele's team have also gone to great lengths to make sure everyone who has booked a ticket will get a great view.

The bespoke arena features a combination of seated grandstands and standing areas with capacity for up to 80,000 people per night.

The site is set up to resemble an amphitheatre with tiered blocks for those who have booked seating. Block A starts closest to the stage with seating slowly rising to the furthest from the back, Block D. Each block is then divided into smaller sections allowing ease of access.

Premium seating features an exclusive invitation into the pre-show Adele lounge including: Welcome drink, access to VIP hospitality from 5pm until 8pm and again after show drinks until midnight and VIP lanyards and a gift.

Those standing at the heart of the action front and centre will be seeing their idol perform on a 93-metre catwalk and 200-metre semi-circular walkway as well as the main stage.

Lucky Dip Tickets and how to get them

Ticketmaster is offering “Lucky Dip Tickets” for fans to see the superstar singer in action for a bargain price.

Tickets can be purchased for 35 euros per ticket (or just less than £30).

The tickets will be given at random and will feature standing options as well as seats at the very back. The allocated seat cannot be changed and tickets must be collected in person from the box office on the day of the performance.

A very limited number of the Lucky Dip tickets will become available every Monday throughout Adele's August run. A maximum of two tickets can be purchased per person.

The first batch of discounted tickets were offered on July 29 and sold out within a few minutes.

Adele ‘training like an athlete’

Adele has revealed that she has been heading to the gym three to four times a day after landing a ten-date residency in Munich

Opening up to the crowd at her Las Vegas residency, Adele revealed: "I am back at my gym grind like nobody's business, I am doing two or three sessions a day. My a**e is getting rock solid again! I can move mountains with my bum. I have been working out like a crazy person. The reason that I am working out like I'm an athlete again is because that stage is f****** enormous.

She added: "I was like 'build me a stage out in the crowd'. And they were like 'Well, we can't get you there unless you walk there on a stage'. [So] I think I'll get a good four or five miles in a night, walking. So I really need to get my stamina up!"

Inside the record breaking custom built stadium

Organisers are aiming to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest outdoor screen of all time.

The 220 metre wide and 30 metre high LED screen being installed will cost £34million. Adele said the giant video installation would enhance the experience for fans. "They just want to see your face and know it's you, so the screens are enormous."

A 93-metre catwalk and 200-metre semicircular walkway to a second stage will bring Adele’s belting anthems and north-London wit as close to fans as possible.

The entire setup is designed to resemble a theatre, reminiscent of the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas but on a much bigger sale.

Adele posted pictures of the venue to her Instagram account after visiting the site earlier this month - complete with high-vis jacket on, calling the set-up "bloody exciting".

Adele announces her Munich residency

Adele surprised fans by announcing a four night residency at a bespoke arena in Munich, Germany, for four nights back in January. The run was then extended to ten dates across August to meet demand.

She wrote on Instagram: “So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans.

“However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea – a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!?

“Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous!

“Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone! And some of my favourite artists playing shows too? Why … YES!!

“I haven’t played in Europe since 2016! I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer.

“Guten Tag babes x”
