The Chase is on, but the chances of catching moneybags Bradley Walsh and matching his wealth looks almost impossible.

Brad, 64, hosted the quiz Midas Touch in the mid-90s but clearly he is the one who can turn everything into gold. Last year, The Chase presenter’s TV work made him £2million and he ploughed £5m into property and stocks and shares. And his main company, Wingit Productions Ltd, goes from strength to strength, according to the latest Companies House records. In 2021 it was worth £14.5m, the following year it was valued at £18.6m and in 2023 a huge £19.9m.

He recently splashed out £400,000 on a patch of rugged land in Essex, right beside the country’s busiest motorway, the M25. It is a mystery why the presenter has bought the undeveloped plot. Former professional footballer Brad became one of the wealthiest stars on TV in recent years thanks to the success of The Chase and Breaking Dad with his son Barney, 26.

They both host the latest version of BBC’s Gladiators, with filming for series two starting in August. Before signing the deal, he was at the heart of a bidding war as the BBC and ITV reportedly battled for his services. The star, who has been called the new Bruce Forsyth, lives in a £2.5m converted Essex barn with wife Donna. Bradley has hosted ITV’s The Chase for 15 years and raked in a fortune from regular panto appearances, two best-selling albums and stints in Coronation Street and Doctor Who. He is also in demand for lucrative advertising work.

  • In April, the Mirror reported how Brad wants to trademark the name The Prat Pack, hoping to coin it in doing TV and live shows with his star buddies. The entertainer appeared in a variety show at the London Palladium with Brian Conley, Shane Richie and Joe Pasquale earlier that month. They dubbed themselves The Prat Pack in a jokey nod to the Rat Pack of the 1960s which featured Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford.
