After Lisa Armstrong posted a photo of her wedding day to Ant McPartlin this weekend, fans were hopeful that she's now in a place to really move forward with her life.
It seems a healing holiday to America has put her in a great place - and pals says he's coming back full of confidence and ready to seize the day. It's been a time of understandable struggle for the 47-year-old, who has reportedly found it hard that her TV star ex is now a father.
Beauty guru Lisa spent over a decade married to Ant, even sticking by his side through his bouts of substance addiction before he went on to marry his former PA Annie-Marie Corbett. The new dad and wife Anne-Marie welcomed Wilder earlier this summer and for his former wife, their happy news has been hard to digest.
Lisa, who last month appeared to launch a not-so-subtle dig on social media as she discussed what's needed to make a marriage work, has been relaxing and recharging in LA for most of August. Friends think it's just what the doctor ordered.
"She has been enjoying a healing journey in the US," a source told New! Magazine. "Lisa has been struggling every since Ant announced he had become a dad - while her friends and family have been so supportive, she just knew she had to get away."
They went on: "So as soon as she got the chance, she flew to LA to be with her best friend and just reflect on everything." The former singer has been enjoying cocktails and sunshine, knowing work with ramp up when she gets back.
The Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist and new dad Ant, 48, got hitched back in 2006 having been loved up since they were teenagers. The childhood sweethearts didn't have a happy ending, but Lisa still has plenty of good memories about their big day.
Love-struck Ant had met and fallen for Lisa 11 years before their fairytale wedding, which took place at St Nicolas Church in Taplow, Berkshire, on July 22 2006. Writing in their memoirs Ooh! What A Lovely Pair: Our Story, Ant opened up about "the happiest day" of his life.
"Lisa looked beautiful. She was wearing an incredible ivory satin dress with a lace bolero jacket and a tiara. She looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle," he recalled three years after the big day. "As well as being the happiest day of my life, it was also the hottest day of my life - it was like getting married in Louisiana."
It's now been reported that six years on from her divorce, Lisa has now made herself a tidy £1.7million profit thanks to selling her once marital home for £4million. Lisa had been renting the lavish house out for a whopping £10,000 a month over recent years.
Following the birth of Wilder, a source said that the couple was 'beyond delighted' at the happy news, The Sun said: "This is the news everyone wanted. Ant and Anne-Marie are beyond delighted. It's no secret that Ant has always wanted children, but that it may never happen for him was something he had, sadly, come to terms with.
"When they found out last year, they were absolutely delighted, but obviously kept the news quiet for as long as possible. To be having a child two years short of his 50th birthday, with the love of his life, is the stuff of dreams for Ant. He's already a wonderful, doting father to Anne-Marie's kids, and together they're going to be brilliant parents to this latest addition to the family."
