Pop superstar Kylie Minogue wonders what being a mum would have felt like.

The singer, 56, has blamed her battle with breast cancer for ruining her chance to have kids, saying it 'changed everything'. Kylie, who is performing at BST Hyde Park tonight, was diagnosed with the disease 20 years ago.

"Realistically, you're getting to the late side of things," she told the Sunday Times' Style magazine. "And, while that wasn't on my agenda at the time, it changed everything.

"I don't want to dwell on it, obviously but I wonder what that would have been like. Everyone will say there are options, but I don't know. I'm 50 now, and I'm more at ease with my life.

"I can't say there are no regrets but it would be very hard for me to move on if I classed that as a regret, so I just have to be as philosophical about it as I can. You've got to accept where you are and get on with it."

Kylie underwent a lumpectomy and chemotherapy after her breast cancer diagnosis and was declared cancer free in 2006. She is currently single and told Access Hollywood earlier this year: "I'm single and I'm enjoying this freedom and the liberty and I think we can make different choices at this time than we may have at other times.

"I guess don't be afraid - I've definitely... there's some romances I maybe could have done without, but it's all part of what makes us human and our understanding of everything. Hey, you fall in love, what can you do!"

The star's significant relationships have included her ex-fiancé, actor Joshua Sasse. "I never thought I would get married," said the Spinning Around star in an interview with Marie Claire last year. "Just going through 'being engaged' seems like an experiment, because I'd never as a girl or in all my life had a vision of getting married.

"It's not something I needed or wanted. My parents never brought me up with the idea of 'the big marriage.' I never had it as a goal."

More recently the star dated GQ executive Paul Solomons from 2018 to 2023, after meeting through mutual friends. Their split was rumoured to have been caused by the distance between them, with Paul residing in the UK and Kylie in Melbourne, Australia.

Kylie previously dated British model James Gooding from 2000 until 2003, when he cheated on her with fellow model Sophie Dahl. Another significant ex was French actor Olivier Martinez, who she began dating in 2003 with a 'mutual and amicable' split in 2007.

The former Neighbours star told how Olivier supported her during her breast cancer diagnosis, saying: "On particular dark days, I'd be lying on the bathroom floor wailing and he'd say, 'OK, honey, you can cry for just five minutes, then I'm taking you on the bike for a ride around Paris'.

Some of the Padam Padam hitmaker's exes are famous names in their own right - Jason Donovan, Michael Hutchence and Lenny Kravitz were all early boyfriends of the star.
