Pete Wicks has been dabbling in a bit of acting lately but he has no plans to follow in the footsteps of other reality TV stars and make his soap debut.

As he's unveiled as the the new relationship consultant for Sky Mobile, which involves urging people to ditch their costly and inflexible contracts, a hilarious advert starring the veteran reality TV star has landed - with Pete sending up smash-hit film Saltburn and recreating Barry Keoghan's famous shirtless balcony scene.

In the tongue-in-cheek commercial, Pete is introduced as a break up consultant and sees the Essex Casanova describe himself as Cupid's Nemesis and get a face tattoo as he prances around a stately manor with a devoted butler called Bertie.

But while Pete delivers a great performance in the cheeky advert, the former TOWIE hasn't caught the acting bug and has no desire to try bag a role on Hollyoaks in the future - unlike other reality TV stars.

"I had such a good day and it was all made better by Bertie," Pete recalled when discussing his filming experience with the Mirror earlier this week. "David, the guy that played Bertie, was amazing - a proper actor. He was trying to give me a few tips, cos I was a bit worried it was gonna be like the two brothers from Love Island on Hollyoaks."

Love Island star Curtis Pritchard and his brother AJ Pritchard famously took on a nine-episode run as dancer brothers Marco and Jacob on Hollyoaks back in 2021. The siblings didn't exactly impress critics with their performances, with soap fans quickly turning their scenes on the Channel 4 soap into memes.

But while Pete's acting debut with Sky Mobile may be better receive than the Pritchard brothers' soap stint, the Celebs Go Dating star has no desire to take on any additional acting roles. "Absolutely not," Pete declared when asked if he fancied becoming a thespian full-time. "No, no."

Pete was speaking to the Mirror as part of his campaign with Sky Mobile, after signing up to the mobile network to encourage the nation to ditch their costly and inflexible contracts and move on to better connections. New research reveals 63% Brits believe May is the best month to break up with a partner and 30% plan to do it on the 1st day of the month.

Sky Mobile's break up consultant has leaned into that stat, with Pete cheekily recommending the nation end their relationships via text. In the comical advert, Pete can be seen getting some new ink on his face at the hands of his butler Bertie, but it turns out it was all fake.

As the campaign launched at the start of this month - the best day to ditch a partner or contract - Pete explained that his advice and his new ink is "all a metaphor for how easy it is to break up with your network provider". "Simple text to switch. No hassle. No drama," he revealed.

He jokingly added: "Don’t worry everyone, I’m only breaking the hearts of mobile networks this summer. Cutting the cord can be hard, but when breaking up with your mobile network it’s all over with a text. Trust me it’s no hassle and no drama. No love lost - this Summer is all about you moving on to something better."
