Peter Andre has been left stunned and touched by the incredible story of a woman who regained her speech by singing along to one of his songs.

Leanne Fraser, 32, was struck mute for two years following complications from a C-section, initially believed to be a reaction to anaesthesia. Later diagnosed with functional neurological disorder (FND), which disrupts the communication between the brain and body, she faced the grim prospect of never speaking again.

But in an astonishing turn of events, it was the catchy tune of Peter's '90s hit Mysterious Girl that brought her voice back. Writing in his Planet Pete column for new! magazine, the 51-year-old singer expressed his desire to meet Leanne and shared how Loose Women star Katie Piper is lending a hand to make it happen.

He penned: "It was lovely to read in the news that Mysterious Girl helped a lovely lady learn to speak again. Leanne Fraser lost her ability to talk after a C-section and apparently, my song helped her regain her speech. Now although some may find that funny, it just goes to show that music is powerful and can trigger so many things, like memories and feelings. I really want to make contact with Leanne. My friend Katie Piper is trying to track her down and hopefully, this column will help to find her, too!"

Recounting the process of regaining her speech in a recent chat with the Daily Mail, Leanne revealed: "I had a severe speech impediment for 18 months. Doctors said I might not be able to speak like me again. Henry [her son] was listening to songs on YouTube and Peter Andre's Mysterious Girl came on."

"I started singing it in my head and spoke to Jake [her husband] and he said 'Oh my god you didn't stutter'. It's amazing having my speech back. I'm grateful to Peter Andre." Further discussing how other songs have also helped her communication skills to improve, she remarked: "Peter Andre works every time. When I started singing in my head, for months it was Peter Andre. Now any sort of song works. But singing a slow song makes my speech slower. I'm so grateful to talk."

The delightful news for Peter comes just after he and his wife Emily welcomed their third child together earlier this month. Although the couple are yet to reveal the young tot's name, Peter did share an update on their decision-making process. Responding to a fan's query about whether they had chosen a name, Peter confessed: "Still no name. Literally struggling. She doesn't look like anyone [of] the names we have thought of."
