Best pals, Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks found themselves in a bit of a pickle at the Brit Awards in London's O2 Arena this evening.
The reality TV pair filmed themselves in their car, unable to get into the red carpet event. They were supposed to be covering the event for their incredibly popular podcast called Staying Relevant, however in an unforeseen and unfortunate turn of events, the pair were turned away from the red carpet entry area.
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winner Sam, 31, took a selfie with Pete and shared it on his Instagram Stories saying: "We can't get in." The former Made In Chelsea star then posted another story saying: "This is what I came for" alongside a photo showing Pete talking on the phone to someone about how they could not get in to the venue.
Thankfully, the pair eventually made it onto the red carpet. Meanwhile, Maya Jama took to her Instagram Stories to share a glimpse of her routine ahead of the ceremony as she was still getting ready at the time that Sam and Pete couldn't access the red carpet.
The Love Island presenter, along with Clara Amfo and Roman Kemp, is hosting tonight's awards show at London's O2 Arena. In a short clip on her Stories, Maya filmed herself getting pampered with rollers in her hair and an eye mask to look as fresh-faced as possible.
"Off to do a final little read-through and skin prep," she said. The star picked up a hair-cutting comb and spoke into it like it was a microphone and added: "Welcome to the BRIT Awards, you b*****ds." Radio DJ Roman also revealed how he has been preparing for the show and posted a snap of a crate filled with ice and Coca-Cola cans, water, and Huel bottles.
Meanwhile, radio and TV star Clara zoomed in on a picture of the three hosts posing on a screen as she wrote: "Show day," as the caption. This year's ceremony has the likes of Houdini singer Dua Lipa and Padam Padam singer Kylie Minogue performing on the stage.
When Clara, Maya and Roman were announced as hosts, they shared their excitement in a statement. Clara said: “Hosting The BRITs is a bucket list job, I’m so very honoured and excited for this year’s show. Throughout my career, I’ve been so lucky to witness the growth of this year’s nominees and performers and I know it’s gonna be another special one.
"I can’t wait to hit the stage with Maya and Roman to celebrate these amazing artists at The O2!” Maya added: “I'm really excited to be hosting The BRIT Awards alongside Clara and Roman. I’ve worked alongside the incredible team at the BRITs for years now and it’s something I always watched, and wanted to be a part of, growing up - so it’s amazing to be on the stage this year hosting it!
"It’s always one of the best nights of the year for me, and a real celebration of British music, culture, and talent.” Roman shared: “This is a real pinch me moment! Hosting the BRIT Awards - what an honour. I remember watching the BRITs on TV when I was growing up so to be asked to host this year’s awards, is a dream come true.
The main show takes place on Saturday, March, 2 at The O2 Arena in London and will be broadcast exclusively on ITV and ITVX from 8.30pm.
