Zara McDermott jokingly admitted she doesn't want Sam Thompson's best pal Pete Wicks to get a girlfriend as it would ruin their 'throuple' situation.
Zara and Sam are really close friends with Pete, with the former TOWIE star always showing up in the couple's hilarious social media skits about their relationship. Sam and Pete met when they both appeared on Celebs Go Dating in 2018. A year later, he started dating Love Island star Zara.
The reality star and Sam have been asked many times about their friendship with Pete. And now, Zara revealed: "We are a throuple without the intimacy. That's what I think we are. Pete, honestly, like, he's got a very hard outer shell is what we say. He's got a very hard exterior, but he has the gooiest centre. He's like a chocolate fondant."
She added: “Sam wants him to move in with us, but he says no. I would love for Pete to move in with us. The three of us, we have a very odd relationship, but it's very amazing. He's literally my brother, my best friend. He's Sam's brother and his best friend, and me and Sam are together."
Speaking on the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, she added: "So I love them both very much in different ways. It's a strange dysfunctional family. It works so well because we are all so different, the three of us, that we... just anything that any of us is faced with, like we're all there for each other. It's so lovely."
The documentary-maker joked she never wanted the star to 'get a girlfriend' and added it would 'change the dynamic' if he got into a relationship and moved the woman in 'with them'. It comes after Sam broke his silence when fans started speculating the couple got engaged.
Speaking in a recent interview alongside his BFF and podcast co-host Pete, Sam cleared up the rumours and revealed that while "marriage is on the cards at some point" for himself and Zara, the pair are not engaged just yet. "Zara just really wanted to get away so it wasn't like one of those really special on-one-knee places," Sam explained when quizzed about the speculation.
He went on to admit: "I probably wouldn't do it in Dubai anyway to be fair. But it was an amazing trip. I don't know if Zara can say the same as I got insomnia for the first three nights and Zara got really annoyed at me. One day I shall be getting down on one knee to propose. Marriage is on the cards at some point, yes."
