Piers Morgan appeared in TMZ Investigates: Where is Kate Middleton? which aired in the United States Thursday night.

In the hour-long special, various media personalities and experts speculated about what is going on in the royal family amid rumours about Kate Middleton's whereabouts. The rumours reached a fever pitch ever since the release of the doctored Mother's Day picture of Kate and her children and the blurry video of Kate and Prince William out shopping.

"None of it makes sense," Piers said to the camera in his sit down interview. Speaking about the altered photo, he added: "The people I blame for this are the palace press team. What were they thinking passing this on to the world's media without making basic checks?"

He believes the palace should have not shared the photo with so many edits. "The very last thing you should do is issue a picture which has 16-17 edits to it that we know of," Piers said.

Then the confession from Kate that she was the one who altered the picture had Piers wondering more. "Why is she taking all this time on a Friday night to self edit a picture that is extremely important?” He asked the camera.

"You wonder if everything is fine," he said, "Seems very strange that you'd go through all those edits."

Piers also mentioned he had a close source to the Princess of Wales who said that Kate looked nothing like the photo at the time it was supposedly taken. "I don't believe that's an accurate depiction of how she looked at the time," Piers said.

“She looks absolutely blooming with good health," he pointed out, "I don’t think that’s an accurate reflection of how she actually looked at the time.”

This isn't the first time Piers Morgan has chimed in on the Kate Middleton speculation.

Morgan has revealed many of his showbiz friends have asked him if the theories are true. He claims a "very intelligent, media-savvy friend" of his from America asked if Kate "is dead". Writing in his The Sun column, Piers said: "'No, she’s not dead,' I replied to my American friend, 'and yes, that is her in the video.' But these two definitive, incontestably factual statements did nothing to allay my friend’s concerns.

"And it was at that point I realised nothing would, short of Kate appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored clutching a verifiable DNA test result to prove she is who she says she is."
