Alessia Russo is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Women's Super League club Arsenal and the England national team
Arsenal star Russo is of Italian descent, after her Sicilian grandfather moved to England in the 1950s. He passed on his love for Manchester United to her. Russo grew up in Maidstone, Kent, alongside her brothers, Luca and Giorgio.
Her police officer dad Mario reportedly played non-league football for the Met Police and was their all-time goal scorer.
When she was around eight years old, Russo appeared as a mascot for then-Charlton Athletic captain, Casey Stoney, and walked her onto the pitch. Then a decade later, Stoney ironically signed her for Manchester United in 2020.
