Prince Andrew may have to quit his Royal Lodge home after King Charles laid off his security team, according to reports. The monarch is said to have told the 10-strong detail they will no longer be needed from the autumn.

Speculating is mounting that the disgraced Duke will have to leave the mansion as a result of his brother's decision. Charles has been funding private guards at the Windsor property ever since Andrew’s armed cops were removed in 2022.

Andrew currently lives at the Lodge with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Friends of Andrew say his 75-year lease on the Lodge means he has no reason to give up his home he has lived in for the past 20 years. It is not known who will move into the Lodge.

Relations between the brothers have been strained for some time. Andrew's reputation has hit rock bottom since damaging sex allegations were made in the US. He has always denied any wrongdoing but it is said the Duke will never return to public duty.

“Everyone is speculating this means the Duke will have to leave the Royal Lodge because what other reason could there be to take his security away? a Palace insider told The Sun on Sunday.

“They are all working the final weeks of their contract till the end of October. It’s not thought anyone is being lined up to replace them. It isn’t a secret that the King wants him out.”

In 2022 he was stripped of his royal roles and lost his round-the-clock Met Police security. Charles and Andrew are currently together at Balmoral in Scotland enjoying a summer break.

Buckingham Palace has declined to comment.
