Forget Chanel No.5 - KFC's now launched its very own 'No.11' perfume.

A KFC-scented perfume probably wasn't what you imagined 2024 would bring. But the fried chicken giant has now launched just this, in a shock move that will no doubt throw fast food lovers completely off guard. Dubbed the 'No. 11 Eau de BBQ', KFC's brand new fragrance boasts a 'classic BBQ experience' in every 100ml bottle.

Catch a whiff, and creators say you'll notice a hint of smoky wood and a dash of charcoal, parodying the likes of Tom Ford's 'Oud Wood' with an extra meaty twist. "This one-of-a-kind fragrance is guaranteed to leave you practically tipsy with hunger," creators claim.

"The lingering base notes create a woody, earthy foundation that promises to make your mouth water for the taste of BBQ. But No 11 is more than just a fragrance – it's a celebration of flavour." The bizarre aroma will no doubt leave you craving a snack, with the scents mirroring the flavours of KFC's new menu item - The Ultimate BBQ Burger.

Also launched today, this sandwich piles a crispy chicken fillet on to a bed of cheese and lettuce, with a drizzle of BBQ sauce. These are here to stay until June 9, but the perfumes will never be sold again once stocks run out completely at the official online shop.

Costing £11, it's an absolute steal compared with Chanel's £75 No.5, and all proceeds go to the KFC Foundation. This non-profit seeks to help disadvantaged young people from across the world and has already given $36million to support over 16,000 students, restaurant employees and other charities.

Phoebe Syms, Brand Manager at KFC&I, said: "At KFC, we’re all about thinking outside the (burger) box, so, naturally, when we created a burger so irresistible, we had to bottle it! Behold, No 11 Eau de BBQ – capturing the mouth-watering scent of our brand-new Ultimate BBQ burger, which allows you to sizzle with every spritz.

"This one is for the real die-hard KFC and BBQ fans because who said fragrance can't also be finger lickin’ good?"

Believe it or not, KFC isn't the first brand to produce an unusual, food-flavoured fragrance. Unbelievable pizza-scented, cosmopolitan cocktail and vanilla cake batter colognes have also been designed by Demeter.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk came out of left field with his 'Burnt Hair' perfume in 2023, described as 'The Essence of Repugnant Desire'.
