Manchester United have not had the busy January transfer window anticipated by many fans, but that may be about to change thanks to an exciting update regarding midfield target Amadou Haidara.

Reports in Germany suggest RB Leipzig would find it difficult to turn down an offer of £46million for the Mali international.

Although they may be getting closer to Haidara, United's chances of landing Julian Alvarez have suffered a blow. Rivals Manchester City have reportedly made two bids for the Argentine.

Arsenal are still pursuing deals for Dusan Vlahovic and Arthur Melo - but struggling - while Liverpool are looking to rejuvenate their attack with youthful signings.

Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele is on the way out of Camp Nou and Newcastle are one of the teams linked with the Frenchman.

Lingard encouraged to join Newcastle

"If I was Jesse Lingard, I'd push the transfer through," Earnshaw told Sky Sports News. "He's at an age where you have to think - what have you done at Man Utd, where do you go next?

"He's got to go and push it, the clubs have got to go and make a deal, but the most important thing is what's next for him.

"The next stage is somewhere else - it's not at Man Utd. What Newcastle get is a top Premier League player and can add goals and an influence."

"If you don't get one or two things right then you can really fall behind the pack and that's kind of happened to us.
