The Chase fans were left fuming after sitting through what has been described as one of the most disappointing episodes of the hit ITV show.

After securing a total of £24,000 all four contestants, made up of Steve, Jacque, Hanna and Eddie, made it to the final leaving viewers hoping it would be an exciting end to the show. However, that was certainly not the case as the final four failed to answer more than ten correct questions, which left The Chaser, Anne Hegerty with a clear run to wipe the floor with them.

Fans pointed out on social media that Hanna was worryingly quiet during the final and failed to answer anything. Meanwhile, Jacque was also under the spotlight for saying "pass" for a concerning amount of questions. After their shockingly disappointing round, it was then Anne's turn. And she answered all of her questions correctly with 53 seconds to spare. And this left the contestants with nothing to go home with.

Host Bradley Walsh told the players: "No attempts to push back, none executed of course, caught with 53 seconds remaining." And fans wasted no time in expressing their anger on X. One person raged: "Another facet of the many faceted Final Chase, it's bonkers that a full house with £24K in the bank can trip over themselves like that ... #TheChase." Another viewer penned: "When all 4 get into the final but they mess up….#TheChase.(sic)." A third person wrote: "They all sucked. Another waste of an hour #TheChase." And a fourth added: "Jacque the chief passer #TheChase."

But it didn't end there as a fifth person chimed in: "Can someone check on Hanna, she appears to have frozen #TheChase." And a sixth said: "Sorry but they missed some easy ones there!*! #TheChase." Elsewhere, The Chase's Paul Sinha recently admitted that his "heaviest ever defeat" on one of the celebrity versions of the show had left him "broken." Recalling the episode from back in 2016, Paul admitted that he was really keen to beat comedian Rob Beckett.

In his autobiography, One Sinha Lifetime: Comedy, disaster and one man’s quest for happiness, he said: "Sat in that seat, being mocked by the team, Bradley [Walsh], the audience and even the warm-up guy 'despondent' didn't cover it. I felt broken. Under the circumstances, I was pretty proud of what I said to Sir Geoff Hurst. 'I imagine this must be the greatest day of your life'. Afterwards, I really needed a drink and there was plenty on offer in the green room." He added: "As I offered insincere congratulations to the victors, I knocked back an imprudent quantity of beer and wine. Misjudging your pace matters less when you're happy. This was not the day to misjudge my pace."
