Sept. 7: RHP (Tigers’ No. 2 prospect) promoted to Triple-A Toledo
Jobe, MLB Pipeline’s top-ranked pitching prospect and No. 7 prospect overall, went 4-2 with a 1.95 ERA over 16 starts this season at Double-A Erie, allowing just 42 hits over 73 2/3 innings (5.1 H/9) with 38 walks and 81 strikeouts. The 22-year-old is coming off his best start of the season, having tossed a career-high seven innings Thursday against Reading with a run on three hits, two walks and eight strikeouts over 90 pitches, 68 strikes. It was a welcomed bounceback from his previous start, when he left with two outs in a 29-pitch second inning due to organizational limits on pitches in an inning.

Though the Tigers have emphasized the value of postseason experience in the Minor Leagues under president of baseball operations Scott Harris, Jobe’s work when he’s attacking the strike zone and getting swings and misses suggests he’s ready for Triple-A hitters and the automated strike zone of the ABS challenge system. Moreover, Harris said a month ago that Jobe would need to pitch at Triple-A before being considered for a Major League call-up. The Mud Hens are on the road at Omaha next week before finishing their season at home against Columbus Sept. 17-22.

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP (right shoulder strain)
Expected return:
September
Olson began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Sept. 5 with two scoreless innings against Indianapolis. He threw 39 pitches (24 strikes) and allowed one hit. Five of his six outs were via ground balls, and the other was a strikeout. He will make another rehab start for the Mud Hens next week. (Last updated: Sept. 6)

OF Wenceel Pérez (left oblique strain)
Expected return: September
Pérez began a Minor League rehab stint with Triple-A Toledo on Sept. 2. The switch-hitter made his first two appearances at DH and then played right field on Sept. 5. He had a scheduled off-day on Sept. 6 but will return to action Sept. 7. Pérez is batting left-handed only at this point. He has been hitting right-handed in the cage but has yet to take that into live pitching. (Last updated: Sept. 6)

SS/2B (right hamate fracture; No. 3 on Tigers' Top 30 Prospects list)
Expected return: TBD
McGonigle is completing daily rehab following hamate surgery on Aug. 15. He sustained the fracture fouling off a pitch on Aug. 10 at High-A West Michigan.

In his first full season, the 37th overall pick of last year's MLB Draft put together a .309/.401/.452 slash line with 25 extra-base hits and 22 stolen bases over 60 games for Single-A Lakeland and 14 for West Michigan. He also drew 46 walks compared to 28 strikeouts. (Last updated: Aug. 27)

2B Hao-Yu Lee (lumbar spine inflammation; No. 8 on Tigers' Top 30 Prospects list)
Expected return: TBD
Lee, who injured his lower back while hitting during a game on Aug. 15 with Double-A Erie, continues to rehab the injury daily. (Last updated: Aug. 27)

60-DAY INJURED LIST

INF (right hip surgery)
Expected return:
2025
Báez had season-ending arthroscopic right hip surgery on Sept. 3, according to the team. The 31-year-old missed close to a month in June due to lumbar spine inflammation. The Tigers should have a clearer idea on his status for the offseason and next Spring Training after he begins rehabilitation in Detroit.

"I know it's an extensive rehab," Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said. (Last updated: Sept. 4)

RHP (right radial nerve injury)
Expected return: TBD
White underwent a hydrodissection procedure on Aug. 20, similar to the procedure Beau Brieske had to address his nerve issues last year. He began a throwing progression the week of Sept. 2. The Tigers recalled White from Double-A Erie and placed him on the Major League injured list to open a 40-man roster spot for Kerry Carpenter’s return. (Last updated: Sept. 4)

RHP (right shoulder strain)
Expected return:
2025
Faedo received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his shoulder, according to the Tigers, after reporting lingering shoulder soreness before and after a stint on the paternity list in late August. The Tigers transferred Faedo to the 60-day injured list on Aug. 30, having determined he will not be ready in time to pitch again this season. However, he is expected to have a full, healthy offseason. (Last updated: Aug. 30)

RHP (left hip, right forearm)
Expected return: 2025
Gipson-Long underwent left hip labral repair surgery on July 9 after returning to Comerica Park for a checkup with doctors three months after his Tommy John surgery. He has been rehabbing daily in Lakeland, Fla.

The Tigers transferred him to the 60-day IL on May 7 to open a 40-man roster spot. (Last updated: July 9)
