Red Entertainment Corporation is a video game developer based in Japan. The company was founded in 1976, but didn't start its business until 1985. Before December 4, 2000, it was known as Red Company. While Red Company has been developing video games since mid-1980s, the first title released under the Red Entertainment brand was Gungrave on July 17, 2002.
Among the company's most notable works is the role-playing series Tengai Makyō, created by Teruhisa Hiroi.

After a management buyout from SEGA, the company becomes independent again. They wanted to develop Xbox 360 titles, but SEGA predominantly published PS2 titles at the time. Also, according to producer Ohji Hiroi, the lower development cost for Xbox 360 titles did not require them to be part of a big establishment.
