The Monroe City R-1 School District (MCR1) is located in northeast Missouri.  Our district currently serves 720 students from Marion, Monroe, Ralls, and Shelby counties.  One elementary school with Preschool through Grade 4 serves approximately 246 students.  One middle school with Grades 5-8 serves approximately 202 students.  One high school serves approximately 272 students in grades 9-12.


Recently renovated in phase one of the elementary school, all three buildings have been connected.  Located in the center of Monroe City, MO, the campus features an all-weather track and turf football field, newly constructed Ag building and greenhouse as well as six new PK-Kindergarten classrooms, nurses station, elementary cafeteria as well as a new office complex and two new playground areas.
