  • FA Shortstop #9
The 34-year-old had just signed a minor league deal with the Orioles in early August, but he requested his release from the team on Sunday and had it granted. It’s unclear if he’ll attempt to latch on elsewhere or if this might be the end of the line for Segura.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #32
Hahn signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers back in January and went on to post a respectable 4.54 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 44/33 K/BB ratio across 41 2/3 innings (35 appearances) this season for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 35-year-old righty hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since the 2021 season at this point and it’s fair to wonder if this is the end of the road. He made 82 appearances (50 starts) in the majors from 2014-2021 between the Padres, Athletics and Royals.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #46
Woodford will search for a new opportunity after struggling to a bloated 8.01 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 21/9 K/BB ratio across 30 1/3 innings (eight appearances, six starts) this season between the White Sox and Pirates.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #26
The left-hander was sent outright to Triple-A Columbus on Friday but instead of accepting the assignment, Gose has decided to peddle his wares on the open market instead. The 34-year-old possesses a live arm so it shouldn’t take him long to land another opportunity elsewhere.
  • FA Catcher #6
Nido had been stationed on the Cubs’ 10-day injured list since July 25 due to a right knee sprain. He’s now free to sign elsewhere as extra catching depth if he’s able to find an opportunity to his liking.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #88
Matzek was placed on waivers earlier in the week and passed through unclaimed. The 33-year-old hurler now has an option to latch on elsewhere if he so chooses. Matzek did not appear in a game for the Giants after coming over from the Braves in the Jorge Soler deadline deal.
  • FA Left Fielder #12
The 32-year-old utilityman had latched on with the Reds on a minor league deal in early July. There, he hit .237/.338/.364 with three homers and 17 RBI over 139 plate appearances. He’s now free to latch on elsewhere if he so chooses.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #59
Brebbia went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week and is now free to pursue an opportunity elsewhere. The 34-year-old veteran reliever, who has made 349 career appearances in the big leagues since 2017, will be eligible for the postseason if he manages to latch on somewhere before Sunday’s deadline.
  • FA Starting Pitcher #46
As expected, Keller has refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Worcester after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 29-year-old righty could wind up returning on a new deal with the Red Sox as extra organizational relief depth at some point in the coming days.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #56
Rodríguez has declared free agency. He had a 5.93 ERA in 14 relief appearances for Boston this season.
