It looked like the Nets would come up with another late-game miracle against the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night at the IZOD Center, but it wasn't to be. With Vince Carter hitting four threes in the first 3 1/2 minutes, the Nets went up 13 early on. They were up 10 midway through the second quarter, but the Raptors cut the lead to four by halftime and went up eight with a 10-0 run late in the third. With Toronto up 12 with less than five minutes to go in the game, the Nets used an 11-2 run cut it to three. A Devin Harris layup made it 107-106 with 37 seconds to go, but after a Jose Calderon miss, Harris let the clock wind all the way down and then missed a step-back jumper as time expired. Carter led the Nets with 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Harris added 25 points and 10 assists. Toronto shot 57 percent from the field and 11-22 from three point range. The Nets meanwhile shot 15-32 from beyond the arc, two short of a franchise record. Carter and Keyon Dooling had five each, Dooling's tying a career high. Brook Lopez scored 14 on 7-10 shooting, but grabbed only four rebounds.
