Nets Say Brooks Has A Broken Toe; No Timetable Set for Return

The Nets have announced via Twitter that MarShon Brooks has "a broken little toe on his right foot. No timetable for his return". Brooks will see a foot specialist later Monday.

Brooks tweeted "sigh" shortly the news was announced. He arrived at practice Monday morning with swelling in his toe. He was given an x-ray which revealed the fracture. Avery Johnson said there's no indication when Brooks broke his toe, that in fact it could have been several games back.

DeShawn Stevenson had his right knee drained on Monday. He has already said that he'll miss Tuesday's game in Indiana, and his status for Wednesday's home game against Detroit is up in the air.

Meanwhile, Johnson said that he doesn't expect Brook Lopez to return anytime soon. "He's not close. Not close. First of all, he has to start running..." Fred Kerber reported early Monday that his return may have to wait until after the All-Star Game, which is February 26. Deron Williams joked that Johnson, a New Orleans native, was practicing "voodoo" on the team.
