Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Brooklyn Nets fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

Given the way things went for Brooklyn Nets fans this past season, you’d hope maybe — just maybe — the NBA Finals would offer some solace. Instead, it’s just another reminder of the past, whether it be mistakes or things that simply didn’t work out.

The Boston Celtics will represent the Eastern Conference after running through the first three rounds. We’d long moved on from the infamous Billy King (and Dmitry Razumov) trade that Pierce, Garnett, Jason Terry and D.J. White to Brooklyn in exchange for Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, MarShon Brooks, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans and three first-round picks, plus the right to swap first-round picks in 2017.

Two of those picks, of course, turned into Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown — Boston’s righteous leaders amid their dominance in the East the past handful of years.

Then, there’s Kyrie Irving in Dallas (and head coach Jason Kidd). There was love for the hometown kid in Irving when he arrived in Brooklyn back in 2019. Now it’s become a bitter, sour taste in the mouth for fans and the organization after a dream turned into a nightmare scenario.

And here’s the final salt in the wound to the past that keeps resurfacing — the Celtics, led by Brooklyn’s picks, will take on the former golden child of New Jersey/Brooklyn in the 2024 NBA Finals.

So Nets fans, who you rooting for?
