Fogo de Chão has arrived in Central Jersey.

The upscale Brazilian steakhouse chain opened at 400 Commons Way in Bridgewater on Monday, June 24. It’s the third New Jersey location.

The new restaurant at Bridgewater Commons features a dining room that is centered around an open churrasco grill. Patrons can watch as gaucho chefs butcher, hand carve and grill different cuts of meat.

It also has dry-aged meat lockers for in-house aging, wine displays, an outdoor dining patio, private dining spaces to reserve for special occasions and an indoor Bar Fogo area serving an all-day happy hour.

Fogo de Chão is known for its fire-roasted meats carved tableside. Cuts include bone-in ribeye, lamb chops, picanha and a 20-ounce wagyu New York strip steak. Guests can also order the “Full Churrasco Experience,” a prix fixe menu starting at $38 with various cuts of meat continuously served.

Meat alternatives on the restaurant’s menu include several fish and vegan dishes, such as Chilean sea bass, seared tofu, black bean pasta, cauliflower steak, jumbo shrimp cocktail and a seafood tower.

Fogo de Chão Bridgewater is open from Monday to Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The steakhouse at Bridgewater Commons neighbors two other restaurant chains, Uncle Julio’s Bridgewater and The Cheesecake Factory.

It joins New Jersey’s two other Fogo de Chão locations in Paramus at Westfield Garden State Plaza and Wayne at Willowbrook Mall.

Fogo de Chão operates 88 steakhouses worldwide, including 69 locations in the United States, after opening its first restaurant in Brazil in 1979. The chain plans to open 12 other restaurants across the U.S., including one at the World Trade Center in New York.
