Pine Hill art teacher charged after alleged sexual conversation with middle school student

A Pine Hill art teacher was charged Thursday with endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly had inappropriate conversations of a sexual nature, according to the Camden  County Prosecutor's Office.

Charles Reilly, 42, of 1100 block of East Pine Street in Pine Hill, was charged Thursday with the second-degree crime.

Authorities allege Reilly had sexual conversations within the past week with a teenager from Pine Hill Middle School both in person and online. An investigation was initiated after the child reported the conversations to his parents.

Reilly, along with teaching art, runs the school's art club and coaches track and soccer for adolescents.

The middle school issued to parents a letter informing them of the investigation into Reilly's conduct and is prepared to receive information about other inappropriate interactions this teacher may have had with current or former students.

Information about other incidents that may involve Reilly may be given to Camden County Prosecutor's Office Investigator Fawn Ackerman at (856) 225-8400 or Pine Hill Police Detective Charles Stetler at (856) 783-1549.
