Pine Hill art teacher facing more charges for endangering welfare of nine other boys

A Pine Hill art teacher, who was charged last week with endangering the welfare of a child, is facing new charges of possessing child pornography, and additional charges related to inappropriate conversations police said he had in person and online with another nine boys between ages 12 and 15.

Charles Reilly, of the 1100 block of East Pine Street in Pine Hill, was charged with nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a second-degree charge, as well as three counts associated with the creation and distribution of child pornography, as well as possession of child pornography, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

The first charges came about on March 3 after a student alleged Reilly had inappropriate conversations of a sexual nature with him both in person and online. Police launched an investigation after the child reported the conversations to his parents.

Since then, nine other boys, ranging in age from 12 to 15, and all believe to be either current or former Pine Hill Middle School students, have come forward, police said.
Police said Reilly had conversations with the boys, both in person and online, about masturbation. Along with victim's statements, police retrieved digital copies of conversations Reilly had through Facebook and one conversation held between an investigator posing as an adolescent, police said.

Authorities also found child pornography at Reilly's home and received information that he attempted to get an underage boy to take explicit photos of himself and send them to Reilly.

Authorities are still working to determine if there are other people who have had similar interactions with Reilly. Information about other incidents that may involve Reilly may be given to Camden County Prosecutor's Office Investigator Fawn Ackerman at (856) 225-8400 or Pine Hill Police Detective Charles Stettler at (856) 783-1549.
